Abstract:
The present invention relates to a system for protecting a pedestrian approaching a crosswalk. Disclosed is a pedestrian safety system comprising: a pedestrian sensing part for sensing and judging whether a pedestrian enters a safety line from the sidewalk or enters the sidewalk from the road; a pedestrian entry direction identification part; a signal identification part for receiving a stop signal and a walk signal from a pedestrian light and identifying the signals; a control part for controlling the pedestrian sensing part, the signal identification part and a sound output part; and the sound output part for outputting a guidance voice by means of the control part. The pedestrian sensing part senses whether the pedestrian enters the safety line from the sidewalk or enters the sidewalk from the road on the basis of the safety line, through a first sensing part, a second sensing part, a third sensing part and a fourth sensing part. After judging whether the pedestrian enters the safety line from the sidewalk or enters the sidewalk from the road by means of a signal of the pedestrian sensing part when the pedestrian light is in a stop signal state, the control part outputs a guidance voice of "It is dangerous, please step back" through the sound output part when it is judged that the pedestrian has entered the safety line from the sidewalk, and outputs or does not output a guidance voice informing of violation of a traffic signal when it is judged that the pedestrian has entered the sidewalk from the road. When sensing a pedestrian, the system senses and judges from which direction the pedestrian enters and then outputs a suitable guidance voice, and distinguishes between humans and fallen leaves, thereby safely protecting pedestrians without malfunction caused by fallen leaves.
