Abstract:
[Problem] To provide a peeling device for root vegetables and the like with which peeling can be performed in either a dry or wet manner depending on the type of vegetable, and uniform and thin peeling can be achieved. [Solution] This peeling device (10) for root vegetables and the like is provided with: columnar drums (16A, 16B) having perforation blades for peeling; and polygonal drums (18A, 18B) formed in a polygonal shape and having perforation blades. These columnar drums and polygonal drums are arranged in parallel at a distance from each other. The peeling device is configured so that a space formed between the columnar drums and the polygonal drums serves as a processing path in which root vegetables and the like are peeled, a feed screw (20) having a helical feed vane is disposed along the processing path, the feed screw is rotated to transfer an object to be processed, which has been introduced from an introduction opening into the processing path, along the processing path to a discharge opening side, and the surface of the object is peeled by the perforation blades formed on the columnar drums and the polygonal drums during transferring.
