Abstract:
The present invention provides a completion-of-sharpening detecting mechanism that does not apply a large load to a pencil-core tip, and the present invention particularly proposes a mechanism that mitigates damage to the core of a pencil by immediately moving the pencil in the ejection direction when the completion-of-sharpening detecting mechanism detects completion of sharpening. Specifically, a pencil sharpener according to the present invention is provided with: a slide unit that advances straightly in the pencil insertion direction and in the pencil ejection direction; a pencil impelling means that is supported by the slide unit; a slide lock means that locks the slide unit at a straight advancement position when the slide unit advances straightly in the insertion direction; a slide unit unlocking means that unlocks the slide unit at the straight advancement position when a completion-of-sharpening detecting means detects the sharpening-completed state of a pencil; and the like, the pencil sharpener being characterized by comprising a slide unit ejecting means that impels, when the slide unit moves to the lock position, the slide unit in the ejection direction by energy accumulated as a result of the movement.
