Description:
PENDANT FOR PERSONALIZED KEY-CHAINS "

The present invention relates to a pendant for manufacturing of key- chains or similar objects, with a plate having a subject to be selected according to the different needs of the user, among a plurality of predetermined subjects. For instance in the automotive market, the manufacturing of pendants with a plate bearing a distinctive trademark of a car firm, it is well known. Car-accessory suppliers are forced to stock up on a variety of key-chains in a number at least correspondent to the most diffuse car firms in order to satisfy the needs of each customer who owns a car of a specific brand name. All that causing the disadvantage of accumulating, among the unsold goods, key-chains bearing trademarks of nearly unknown car firms. Likewise it may occur in similar fields, such us production and sale of personalized key-chains with initials, zodiacal signs or any other distinctive element suitable to be personalized.

The aim of the present invention is manufacturing a pendant for key-chains or similar objects, which doesn't have the above mentioned limitation and therefore bringing to a volume production, cutting or sell out of dead stock and of unsold goods and consequently a further limitation of the retailer's fixed assets.

Basically, the present invention foresees the plate to be provided separately from the body of the pendant and to be equipped with means of engagement having an irreversible release that cooperate with holes situated

in the body of the pendant, in such a way that enables the seller to be furnished by relatively limited number of bodies and a plurality of different plates supplied by different distinctive signs (for example alphabet, zodiacal signs, car firms trademarks or the like). For instance, due to the low production cost of the plate in comparison to the pendant, a separate body with a complete series or plates coveĀ¬ ring all the possible signs or elements of personalization may be provided. In such a way all the bodies of the pendants may be sold, while a certain quantity of plates, which have moreover an extremely limited market value, will remain unsold. One way of carrying out the invention is described in detail below with reference to drawings which illustrate only one specific embodiment, in which: Fig. 1, in accordance with the invention, shows a frontal section of the body of the pendant according to I-I of fig. 2.

Fig. 2 shows a cross section according to II-II of fig. 1 with elements prearranged for the application. Fig. 3 shows a section according to III-III of fig. 2.

According to the invention and referring to the attached drawing, number 1 generically points out the body of the pendant, said body, as in the illustrated embodiment, having a lenticular development or of different type. Such body of the pendant showing holes (3) for the application of a first extremity of a chain (5), to the opposite end of which a ring for keys or a like is constrained.

In an intermediate position, the body (1) of the pendant shows a wall acting as the bottom of a flat seat (9) (circular in the drawing), where a plate, bearing the symbol or sign that will to personalize the key-chain, is being fitted in right at the act of purchasing by the client. Said wall (7) shows a couple of diametrically-opposed passing holes (13), in which blocking splines (15) with

hooked-profiles (15A) overstepping the holes (13) are fitted in. The splines (15), (15A) corresponds to irreversible jerkily blocking-elements of the plate (11) in seat (9) of the body (1) of the pendant.

After placing the plate (11) in the seat (9), the distal ends of the appendix (15) stick out from the holes (13) on the wall (7) on a further seat or hollow (17) opposite to seat (9). In hollow (17) a shaped-wire spring clip (19) is foreseen, said spring can be hold back and centered by the walls of the hollow and by fitting means, like a screw (21); the spring clip (19) shows elastic arms placed in correspondence of holes (13); therefore each splines (15) by arriving in hollow (17) safetly hooks itself to at least one of the arm of the spring clip, engaging by this manner the plate (11) firmly. In hollow (17) a digital watch (23) can be placed, the encumbrance which is shown by hatching. The hollow (17) is closed by a cover element (25), opened to allow the (digital read out) reading of the time and further opened to allow the access to the contacts of the digital watchfit for changing the time.

The cover element (25), even if the digital watch is not placed in hollow (17), hides from view the back of the wall (7), from which appendix (15) sticks out.

Obviously it is also possible an embodiment in wihich the body (1) in such a way as to show two seats (9), opposed and separated by a middle wall (7), showing two couples of passing holes (13), opportunely staggered engaging correspondent couples of appendix (15) of two opposed plates (11).

The body (1) of the pendant may be manufactured in any material, and dvanta- geously either in wood or any other valuable low-weight material.

However, the possibility of manufacturing the body of the pendant in metal, plastic or other materials it is not excluded.
