The present invention relates to a monomeric pentamethylenediamine adipate of a bio-based material nylon 56, a crystal structure thereof, a crystalline powder thereof, and a preparation method therefor. The pentamethylenediamine adipate is a salt exhibiting a solid state at normal temperature formed by combination of a pentamethylenediamine divalent cation and an adipic acid dianion at a molar ratio of 1:1. The pentamethylenediamine adipate has a crystal structure of C11H24N2O4·nH2O, being a monoclinic system, and has a C2/c space group, where a = 20.2977 (18) Å, b = 4.6957 (3) Å, c = 17.8233 (16) Å, β=116.121 (3)°, a unit cell volume V = 1525.3 (2) A3, and the number of molecules in a unit cell Z = 4. The bulk density of the crystalline powder thereof is greater than 0.20 g/mL. The preparation method comprises: crystallizing pentamethylenediamine adipate containing water of crystallization from a solution containing dissolved pentamethylenediamine and adipic acid, separating crystals from the solution and drying separated crystals to give a crystalline powder having a bulk density of more than 0.20 g/mL.
