Abstract:
By introducing a new functional group to an end of a perfluoropolyether having a hydroxyl group, a compound (lubricant) is provided that is heat-stable and exhibits better fluidity and adsorbability on the surface of a disc than conventional end-modified compounds do. The provided lubricant contains a perfluoropolyether compound, each molecule of which has a group represented by general formula (2) (in which R represents hydrogen, a C1-10 alkyl group, or an alkoxy group, and n is 1 or 2).
