Abstract:
Perfluoropolyether oil compositions obtained by adding a fluorine-containing di- or monoamide having a perfluoropoly- ether group to a perfluoropolyether base oil, preferably a thickener-containing perfluoropolyether base oil. When the compositions are used as lubricant composition, particularly grease, the content of the amide is 0.01 to 50 % by weight based on the total amount of the amide and the base oil, while when the compositions are used as coating for battery electrodes, the content of the amide is 0.01 to 90 % by weight based thereon. The perfluoropolyether oil compositions can protect metal surfaces from corrosive gases such as sulfide gases without impairing the wear resistance and exhibit excellent high -temperature endurance even in the coexistence of graphite or molybdenum disulfide. Further, the creeping-up of an electrolytic solution to a battery electrode and the leakage of the solution can be inhibited only by applying the composition to the surface of the electrode.
