For each sound in a model performance, the present invention supplies performance information specifying the sound and sound generation timing and volume information indicating the volume of the sound. The present invention acquires the volume information in advance of the sound generation timing for each sound in the model performance as the performance time progresses, and presents the sound volume on the basis of the acquired volume information. The volume of this sound is presented using a visible or audible method. For example, the present invention displays key depression strength using a volume indicator at a time t6 which is one beat before the sound generation timing of a time t7, and generates the sound according to the key depression strength. As a result, a performer who receives instruction in sound volume performance operation is able to know the volume of a sound via display and/or sound before the timing at which each sound of the model performance is generated; hence, it is possible to practice a performance while being aware of the sound volume of the model performance.
