Abstract:
This perfusion method has: a cleaning step a) that cleans inside blood vessels by causing a first perfusion fluid to flow inside the blood vessels of an organ and then causing the perfusion fluid to be discharged outside the organ, via the blood vessels; and a preservation step b) in which, after step (a), a second perfusion fluid is caused to flow inside the blood vessels while also discharging the perfusion fluid to outside the organ, via the blood vessels, and the organ is preserved. The first perfusion fluid and the second perfusion fluid each include a biocompatible solution and a serine protease and have an osmotic pressure ratio to normal saline solution of 1–5. In addition the serine protease concentration in the second perfusion fluid is lower than the serine protease concentration in the first perfusion fluid and is 0.01–100 mg/ml. As a result, blood clots in the blood vessels of the organ are dissolved during organ perfusion and the formation of new blood clots can be prevented.
