Abstract:
A periphery monitoring system (100) that comprises: a person detection unit (34) that detects persons present in the periphery of a shovel; and a control unit (35) that controls an output device (50) that is mounted on the shovel. The control unit (35) displays, on a display, an output image that includes image sections, which are generated using images captured by an imaging device (40) that is attached to the shovel, and a shovel icon, and, of the image sections that are in the periphery of the shovel icon, highlights the image sections on the side that corresponds to the direction in which a person detected by the person detection unit (34) is present.
