This permanent magnet-embedded motor is composed of a stator and a rotor. The stator has a coil wound around a stator iron core. The rotor is disposed inside an inner circumferential surface of the stator iron core through a gap so as to be capable of rotating. The rotor is provided with a rotor iron core and a permanent magnet. The rotor iron core is obtained by layering steel plates having a plurality of magnet-embedding holes. The permanent magnet is housed and held in each of the magnet-implanting holes. The plate thickness between a bridge section and a thin-walled linking section is less than the thickness of the steel plate. The bridge section is composed of end sections of the magnet-implanting holes and an outer circumference of the rotor iron core. The thin linking section connects the bridge sections formed between adjacent magnet-implanting holes.
