Disclosed is a permanent magnet synchronous motor, comprising: an iron core (1), a stator (3) and a permanent magnet (2), wherein the iron core (1) and the permanent magnet (2)are fixedly connected, the stator (3) is located in the central position of the iron core (1), the iron core (1) comprises an iron core yoke (11), a rotor iron core pole (12) and a permanent magnet groove (13), the rotor iron core pole (12) is located on an outer peripheral surface of the iron core yoke (11) and is fixedly connected thereto, the permanent magnet groove (13) is located on the outer peripheral surface of the rotor iron core pole (12) and is fixedly connected thereto, the permanent magnet groove (13) is fixedly connected to the permanent magnet (2), the permanent magnet groove (13) is an asymmetric ellipsoidal hollow permanent magnet groove, the shape of the permanent magnet (2) is the same as that of the permanent magnet groove (13), and the size of the permanent magnet (2) is smaller than that of of the permanent magnet groove (13). The permanent magnet synchronous motor has a high material utilization rate and is not susceptible to corrosion or oxidation.
