Abstract:
The present invention relates to a permanent magnet workholding device, and more particularly, to a permanent magnet workholding device in which the magnetic flux can be adjusted by rotating or moving permanent magnets in parallel. The permanent magnet workholding device according to the present invention comprises: a yoke including a bottom plate and a side plate having an attachment surface; a pole piece disposed inside and spaced apart from the walls of the yoke, and including an attachment surface; a fixed permanent magnet inserted between the side plate of the yoke and the pole piece, such that the N-pole thereof contacts the pole piece and the S-pole thereof contacts the side plate of the yoke; and a rotatable controlling permanent magnet having mutually different magnetic polarities alternatingly disposed in a rotating direction around a rotation axis thereof, at least one portion of which passes through a space between the side plate of the yoke and the pole piece, for controlling the intensity of the magnetic flux passing through the attachment surface of the pole piece by controlling a rotated angle thereof so as to attach or detach an object. According to the present invention, only when a main permanent magnet is rotated, be it manually or using a small DC motor, is a low instantaneous current consumed to conveniently drive the permanent magnet workholding device and permanently maintain an attaching force without supplying any further current. Further, as according to the present invention magnetic flux can be linearly formed to achieve and maintain a stable magnetic flux, the operation of the device is rendered stable, control is rendered easy, and the generation of residual magnetism can also be minimized.
