Abstract:
The present invention improves the recognition rate of a person. A first similarity calculation is executed wherein the similarity between a person and prestored person-identifying data is calculated on the basis of a left viewpoint image and a right viewpoint image obtained by capturing an image of a person. A plurality of disparity images is stored in association with a plurality of persons. A disparity image is generated from a left viewpoint image and a right viewpoint image (step 58). A second similarity calculation is executed wherein the similarity between the prestored plurality of disparity images and the generated disparity image is calculated (step 60). The name of the person whose image was captured is determined on the basis of a first similarity obtained by the first similarity calculation and a second similarity obtained by the second similarity calculation (step 65).
