Abstract:
The present invention relates to a method for comparing a test datum for a first biometric modality of a person with a reference datum for said first biometric modality, in particular with a view to verifying the identity of the person, a method in which: a hybrid code is generated from a code representing the test datum and a code representing the reference datum while using at least one error correction code so that a distance along a metric between the hybrid code and the code representing the reference datum of the first biometric modality are less than or equal to a distance along the same metric between the code representing the reference datum and the code representing the test datum of the first biometric modality; and the hybrid code and the code representing the reference datum of the first biometric modality are compared along a metric, particularly with a view to determining if the test datum and the reference datum are from the same person.
