Abstract:
The present invention relates to a petroleum coke desulfurization device and method wherein petroleum coke is subjected to carbon dioxide gasification such that a carbon component is converted to carbon monoxide and a sulphur component is isolated as a solid phase, thereby producing petroleum coke. With the method and device of the present invention, high-sulphur-component petroleum coke created in the process of petroleum refining is subjected to carbon dioxide gasification such that the carbon component can be converted to carbon monoxide and the sulphur component can be isolated as a solid phase. The method and device of the present invention can essentially prevent the production of H2S and COS which conventionally are produced in large amounts in the gasification of petroleum coke. The present invention can produce carbon monoxide by using petroleum coke at low cost.
