Title:
PHA PRODUCTION MICROORGANISM HAVING SUCROSE ASSIMILABILITY, AND METHOD FOR PRODUCING PHA BY USING SAID MICROORGANISM
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/2017/104722
Kind Code:
A1
Abstract:
The present invention addresses the problem of providing a PHA production microorganism capable of assimilating sucrose, and a method for producing PHA by culturing the microorganism by using sucrose as a carbon source. The PHA production microorganism comprises a PHA synthase gene, and genes (1) and (2) derived from heterogeneous organisms. Gene (1) is a sucrose hydrolase gene for coding an amino acid sequence represented by SEQ ID NO: 1, or a gene for coding a polypeptide, which has a sequence identity of 90% or higher with respect to the amino acid sequence and has a sucrose hydrolase activity. Gene (2) is a sucrose permease gene which codes an amino acid sequence represented by SEQ ID NO: 2, or a gene for coding a polypeptide, which has a sequence identity of 90% or higher with respect to the amino acid sequence and has a sucrose permease activity. In addition, the method for producing PHA comprises a step for culturing the PHA production microorganism in a culture medium including sucrose as a carbon source.
