Abstract:
The present invention relates to a composition containing a burdock root extract as an active ingredient for preventing or treating diabetic complications. More specifically, a burdock root extract was confirmed to exhibited an effect of inhibiting the production of advanced glycation end products (AGEs), shown in a non-enzymatic glycation reaction by the sugar in the blood, and thus a composition containing the burdock root extract as an active ingredient can be provided as a pharmaceutical composition or health food for preventing and treating diabetic complications caused by advanced glycation end products (AGEs).
