The present invention relates to a pharmaceutical composition for treating atopic dermatitis containing a glutamine as an active ingredient. According to the present invention, the glutamine is applied on a lesion and attenuates an inflammatory response by suppressing infiltration of inflammatory cells such as leukocytes including eosinophils in the lesion. Thus, edema and pruritus accompanied with an inflammatory response can be relieved and treatment effect is immediately expressed after applying the glutamine.
