Abstract:
The present invention relates to a pharmaceutical composition for preventing or treating cancer, which contains an antiviral agent and an antidepressant as active ingredients, and to which a biguanide-based compound can be added. More particularly, it has been confirmed that, when administered as a complex, mixture or combination of: efavirenz, etravirine, rilpivirine, lopinavir, atazanavir, darunavir and ritonavir, as antiviral agents; and fluoxetine, fluvoxamine, paroxetine, sertraline, duloxetine, amitriptyline, clomipramine, nortriptyline, desipramine, amoxapine, maprotiline, trimipramine, protriptyline and melitracen, as antidepressants, or when administered as a complex, mixture or combination by adding metformin, which is a biguanide-based compound, to efavirenz and fluoxetine, significantly high synergistic anticancer activity is exhibited as compared to when each is administered alone. Thus, the antiviral agents and the antidepressants, according to the present invention, can be effectively used as active ingredients of a composition for preventing or treating cancer.
