Abstract:
The present invention relates to a composition comprising, as an active ingredient, a culture medium of stem cells that are transformed with a recombinant expression vector into which a gene encoding an inhibitor of apoptosis (IAP) protein has been inserted. The composition can increase the viability of hepatocytes, inhibit inflammation and fibrosis in the liver, and induce angiogenesis in the liver. In particular, the composition according to the present invention can promote liver regeneration in individuals who have undergone hepatectomy. Therefore, the composition according to the present invention is expected to be used as a clinical application technique for liver regeneration as well as the treatment of various liver diseases including liver fibrosis.
