Abstract:
The present invention relates to a pharmaceutical composition and a health functional food for treating Parkinson's disease or inhibiting the side effects of levodopa, containing a melanin concentrating hormone as an active ingredient. The composition of the present invention, containing a melanin concentrating hormone as an active ingredient, recovers the loss of dopaminergic nerve cells, thereby having an excellent effect in treating and preventing Parkinson's disease, and alleviating dyskinesia induced by levodopa.
