Abstract:
A pharmaceutical composition for use in the treatment or prevention of disorders associated with ischemia, said composition comprising a mitochondrial damage-inhibiting agent, an anti-inflammatory agent, and biocompatible particles encapsulating either or both of the mitochondrial damage-inhibiting agent and the anti-inflammatory agent. The biocompatible particle may include a poly(lactide-glycolide) copolymer having a number average particle diameter of 2.5 to 1000 nm, or a polyethylene glycol-modified material derived therefrom.
