Abstract:
[Problem] To provide a phase contrast film exhibiting excellent suppression of light leakage when displaying black. [Solution] A phase contrast film comprising at least two phase contrast layers, and comprising a first phase contrast layer and a second phase contrast layer, wherein the first phase contrast layer has optical properties represented by formulas (1), (3), and (4), the second phase contrast layer has optical properties represented by formulas (2), (3), and (4), and the phase contrast film has optical properties represented by formulas (2), (3), and (4). Formula (1): 200 nm < Re(550) < 320 nm. Formula (2): 100 nm < Re(550) < 160 nm. Formula (3): Re(450)/Re(550) ≦ 1.00. Formula (4): 1.00 ≦ Re(650)/Re(550). (In the formulas, Re(450) represents the in-plane phase contrast value at a wavelength of 450 nm, Re(550) represents the in-plane phase contrast value at a wavelength of 550 nm, and Re(650) represents the in-plane phase contrast value at a wavelength of 650 nm.)
