Abstract:
Provided is a phase difference film capable of realizing highly accurate optical compensation over a wide band of visible light by a small number of films. A phase difference film (10) is one polymer film which has a first surface (11) and a second primary surface (12). The phase difference film (10) is configured such that ellipticity E1 (λ) with respect to light of a wavelength λ measured at an angle of 45° from a normal direction by stacking a polarizer (20) on the first primary surface is different from ellipticity E2 (λ) with respect to the light of the wavelength λ measured at the angle of 45° from the normal direction by stacking the polarizer on the second primary surface.
