Abstract:
After temporarily supporting a rotor raw material (8) by holding same with both a chuck (12) and a center (13), a half cylinder jig guide (16) is set concentrically on the periphery of the rotor raw material (8) so as to surround same. On the jig guide (16), a guide groove (19) of the same helical shape as the thread grooves (10) of the rotor raw material (8) is formed. Using the guide groove (19) as a guide, a helical phase matching jig (17) is inserted from above and is engaged with a thread groove (10) of the rotor raw material (8). Phase matching is performed by abutting one flank (9a) that forms a thread groove (10) against the reference surface (17a) of the phase matching jig (17). When machining a screw shaft rotor for a supercharger with a gear hobbing machine using a formed cutter, said configuration makes rapid phase-matching of the rotor raw material possible.
