Provided is an inverter circuit which performs, with a single driving circuit, a power control and a control for following the variation of a resonant frequency caused by a load fluctuation and is capable of reducing switching loss. An inverter driving circuit section obtains the phase difference between an output current and an output voltage, which are outputted to a load circuit connected to intermediate points in two arm circuits of the inverter circuit, and controls the phase of a driving signal to each semiconductor switch so that the phase difference becomes zero or a predetermined value.  This enables the operation frequency of the inverter circuit section to follow the resonant frequency of the load circuit.  This also enables the phase of current to be delayed with respect to the phase of voltage, thereby achieving a ZCS.  Since the phase difference between the output current and the output voltage is used, it is not necessary to measure the current values in the vicinity of the semiconductor switches by use of auxiliary circuits, so that it is possible to simplify the configuration.
