Abstract:
The present invention relates to a phenolic resin for refractories and a method for manufacturing same, the phenolic resin comprising: repeating units (a) derived from a phenolic compound; repeating units (b) derived from an aldehyde-type compound; and repeating units (c) derived from a lignin-type compound, wherein the ratio (mol%) of the number of moles of repeating units (c) derived from a lignin-type compound to the number of moles of repeating units (a) derived from a phenol-type compound in the phenol resin is 1 to 23 mol%. The phenolic resin for refractories may be more suitably used for refractories that require improved heat resistance, workability, and strength.
