Abstract:

A phenyl 4-guanidinobenzoate derivative of general formula (I) and a pharmacologically acceptable acid addition salt thereof, each having an excellent protease inhibitor activity, wherein R1 represents hydrogen or halogen; R2 represents trifluoromethoxy, OCOR3, C(=NOR4)R5 or styrenesulfonyl; R3 represents (un)substituted C3 to C7 cycloalkyl; R4 represents hydrogen, C1 to C4 alkyl, C1 to C4 alkenyl or CH2COOR6; R5 represents hydrogen or C1 to C4 alkyl; and R6 represents hydrogen or C1 to C4 alkyl.
