Abstract:
It is intended to provide a novel phenylene derivative represented by the following general formula (I), which is useful as a remedy or a preventive for renal disorders (nephritis, nephropathy, nephrosclerosis, renal failure and so on), diabetic complications (nephropathy, neuropathy, retinopathy, cataract, microangiopathy, skin damage and so on), cardiovascular diseases (myocardial infarction, heart enlargement, heart failure, arteriosclerosis, coronary diseases, peripheral circulatory disturbance, cerebrovascular disorder, hypertension, systolic hypertension, restenosis after angiogenesis and so on), cerebral metabolic impairment (Alzheimer’s disease, Parkinson’s disease and so on), dialysis-related amyloidosis that is a complication of dialysis, peritoneal sclerosis observed in a patient under peritoneal dialysis, rheumatoid arthritis, solar elastosis, aging, senile cataract and so on: (I) wherein A is a group represented by the following general formula (A1), (A2), (A3) or (A4): (A1) (A2) (A3) (A4) and other symbols have each the same meaning as defined in the description; and a pharmacologically acceptable salt and ester thereof.
