Abstract:
In this phosphor, Ce3+ as a luminescence center is included in a matrix garnet compound having a garnet structure, the matrix garnet compound being a solid solution comprising two or more types of end components, and the end components including Lu2CaMg2(SiO4)3 as a first end component. The matrix garnet compound is preferably a compound including Al. This luminescence device uses this phosphor and is provided with a solid-state luminescence element 117, and the phosphor 2 is excited by light radiated by the solid-state luminescence element 117.
