Abstract:
The present invention addresses the problem of providing: a phosphor having excellent long-persistence properties upon the excitation with ultraviolet ray and also having excellent long-persistence properties upon the excitation with blue light; and a method for producing the phosphor. The present invention relates to a phosphor characterized by being produced by doping a compound represented by compositional formula (1): A3B2C3O12 (wherein A represents (i) at least one element selected from the group consisting of Mg, Ca, Sr, La, Gd, Tb, Lu and Y and (ii) Ce; B represents at least one element selected from the group consisting of Al, Ga, Sc, In, Mg, Lu and Y; and C represents at least one element selected from the group consisting of Si, Ge, Al and Ga) with at least one metal element selected from the group consisting of Ti, V, Cr, Mn, Fe, Co, Ni, Cu, Zn, Zr, Hf, Si, Yb, Eu, Pr and Tb.
