Abstract:
The present invention provides a phosphorus-compound-containing-exhaust-gas purifying catalyst that has: a fire-resistant three-dimensional structure that is provided so as to extend from a gas-inflow-side end face to a gas-outflow-side end face and that has a partition wall for separately forming a plurality of gas flow channels penetrating from the gas-inflow-side end face to the gas-outflow-side end face; a lower catalyst layer that is formed on the partition wall continuously from the gas-inflow-side end face and that contains Pd; a gas-inflow-side upper catalyst layer that is located on the outermost surface of the partition wall, that is formed continuously from the gas-inflow-side end face, and that contains Rh; and a gas-outflow-side upper catalyst layer that is located on the outermost surface of the partition wall, that is formed continuously from the gas-outflow-side end face, and that contains Rh. The gas-inflow-side upper catalyst layer and the gas-outflow-side upper catalyst layer are disposed so as to be away from each other along the direction of the gas flow channels. The length of the lower catalyst layer along the direction of the gas flow channels is 15 mm or longer. The percentage of the length thereof with respect to the total length of each of the gas flow channels is 18% or greater and less than 100%.
