Abstract:
[Problem] To provide a photoacoustic attachment to be used by being attached to a probe.
[Solution] An ultrasonic probe (11) has an ultrasonic detector (22) that includes one or more detector elements. An attachment (14) is a photoacoustic attachment to be attached to the ultrasonic probe (11). The attachment (14) has a light guide member (41) that includes, for instance, a waveguide (42) and a light guide plate (43). The light guide member (41) guides light to be radiated to a subject to be inspected, and radiates the guided light toward the subject from a light output surface of the ultrasonic probe (11), said light output surface facing the ultrasonic detection surface of the ultrasonic probe.
