Abstract:
A photochemical reaction device of an embodiment of the present invention is provided with: a solar cell (10); an electrolyte tank (21) that is divided by a diaphragm (22) and that has a first tank (21a) for storing a first solution (25a) which includes a redox medium oxidant and/or reductant, and a second tank (21b) for storing a second solution (25b) which includes water and/or protons; a first electrode (23) that is installed inside the first tank, is electrically connected to the positive electrode of the solar cell via a first switching element (32a), and is electrically connected to the negative electrode of the solar cell via a second switching element (32b); a second electrode (24) that is installed inside the second tank, is electrically connected to the positive electrode of the solar cell via a third switching element (32c), and is electrically connected to the negative electrode of the solar cell via a fourth switching element (32d); and a switching element controller (31) that controls ON/OFF of the first through fourth switching elements.
