Abstract:
Provided is a photochromic composite fiber, comprising a sheath layer and a core layer; said sheath layer is a fiber-forming polymer; an appropriate flame retardant, softener, and airtightness enhancer are added; said core layer is a thermoplastic fiber-forming polymer, and a photochromic dye, antioxidant, spinning agent, thermal stability agent, and sensitizer are added in a certain proportion. In the fiber, the photochromic material and a functional additive are mixed into the core layer material; then, a core-sheath composite structure is created by means of melt spinning, and a sheath layer containing a functional auxiliary agent is used for encapsulating the core layer, thereby improving the stability of the photochromic material in the core material; under conditions of ultraviolet light greater than 4000 μW/cm2, a temperature of 40°C, and normal humidity, aging testing is accelerated, and the color changing capability of the above may be maintained for 70-110 hours; at the same time, the invention also has the advantages of superior photochromic properties, fast response time, good repeatability, long service life, and excellent mechanical properties.
