Abstract:

A process for producing a photocrosslinked polysaccharide composition, characterized by freezing a photoreactive-polysaccharide solution comprising at least a photoreactive polysaccharide comprising a polysaccharide and a photoreactive group bonded thereto, an aqueous solvent in which the photoreactive polysaccharide is soluble, and one member selected from the group consisting of alcohols compatible with the aqueous solvent, surfactants, and chelating agents and irradiating the resultant frozen solution with light; and a photocrosslinked polysaccharide composition obtained by the process.
