Abstract:
The present invention provides a photodetector device capable of detecting, with high accuracy, laser light which propagates through an optical fiber core. A photodetector device 30 comprises an optical fiber 34 which includes a core 40, an inner cladding 41 having a refractive index lower than the refractive index of the core 40, and an outer cladding 43 having a refractive index which is equal to or less than the refractive index of the inner cladding 41. The photodetector device 30 further comprises: a photodetector 60 which is disposed in a photodetector region 51 of the optical fiber 34 and detects the laser light which propagates through the core 40 of the optical fiber 34; an upstream light removal unit 71 which, in an upstream light removal region 52 positioned upstream of the photodetector region 51 of the optical fiber 34, removes at least a portion L1 of residual light which propagates through the outside of the core 40 of the optical fiber 34; and a downstream light removal unit 72 which, in a downstream light removal region 53 positioned downstream of the photodetector region 51 of the optical fiber 34, removes at least a portion L2 of reflected light which propagates through the outside of the core 40 of the optical fiber 34.
