Abstract:
A reverse bias voltage is applied to a photodiode array that is provided with a plurality of avalanche photodiodes operating in Geiger mode, and quenching resistors connected in series to each of the avalanche photodiodes. Current is measured while changing the reverse bias voltage being applied, and the reverse bias voltage that was applied at a point of inflection in the changes in the measured current is determined as a reference voltage. A voltage obtained as a result of adding a prescribed value to the determined reference voltage is determined as a recommended operation voltage.
