Abstract:
The present invention relates to: a photoelectric conversion element which has high photoelectric conversion efficiency and low dark current at the same time, while exhibiting high durability; and an optical sensor. A photoelectric conversion element according to the present invention comprises: a base (20); a first transparent electrode (21) which is arranged on the base; a second transparent electrode (25) which forms a pair with the first transparent electrode (21); and a photoelectric conversion part which contains a photoelectric conversion layer (27) that is arranged between the first transparent electrode (21) and the second transparent electrode (25). At least one of the first transparent electrode (21) and the second transparent electrode (25) is a transparent silver electrode that is formed from silver or an alloy mainly composed of silver; and the photoelectric conversion element additionally comprises a nitrogen-containing layer (24) which is arranged on the base-side surface of the transparent silver electrode and contains a nitrogen-containing compound having a heterocyclic ring wherein a nitrogen atom is a heteroatom.
