Abstract:
Disclosed is a method for effectively prevent contact between a titanium oxide surface of a semiconductor electrode and an electrolyte solution. Also disclosed are a photoelectric converter with high photoelectric conversion efficiency and a dye-sensitized solar cell using such a photoelectric converter. Specifically disclosed is a photoelectric converter having a dye-sensitized semiconductor electrode which is obtained by having a semiconductor adsorb a dye for dye sensitization, then rinsing the semiconductor on which the dye is adsorbed, and then having the rinsed semiconductor adsorb a carboxylic acid in a supercritical carbon dioxide fluid. The dye adsorption and rinsing may preferably be performed in a supercritical carbon dioxide fluid in which a C1-C4 alcohol may be present.
