Abstract:
This photonic crystal surface-emitting laser comprises an active layer, a photonic crystal layer, and a first semiconductor layer, wherein: the photonic crystal layer has a base material and a plurality of holes periodically arranged in the base material; the holes extend from one surface of the photonic crystal layer to the opposite surface of the photonic crystal layer; the first semiconductor layer is provided on the one surface of the photonic crystal layer; and the lengths of the holes in the <110> direction of the photonic crystal layer are smaller than the lengths of the holes in the <1-10> direction of the photonic crystal layer.
