Abstract:
A photonic crystal T-type waveguide-based magnetic control either/or right angle output optical path switch, comprising a photonic crystal T-type waveguide having a TE band gap. The optical path switch also comprises an input end (1), two output ends (2, 3), background silicon dielectric rods (4), isosceles right angle triangle defect dielectric rods (5) and a defect dielectric rod (6). The optical path switch also comprises an electromagnet (7) which provides a bias magnetic field. A left end of the photonic crystal T-type waveguide is the input end (1), and the output ends (2, 3) are respectively located at a right end and an upper end of the photonic crystal T-type waveguide. The photonic crystal T-type waveguide inputs TE light via the input end (1), and an output signal is outputted from one of the two output ends (2, 3). The optical path switch is small in volume, easy to integrate, highly efficient, and capable of implementing a TE carrier optical signal magnetic control either/or optical path switch function.
