Abstract:
The objective of the present invention is to provide: a volume hologram which exhibits excellent diffraction efficiency and durability, while having low thermal shrinkage rate in the thickness direction; a photosensitive composition for volume hologram production, which is used for the production of this volume hologram; a method for producing this volume hologram; and a holographic optical element which is provided with this volume hologram . A photosensitive composition for volume hologram production according to one embodiment of the present invention is characterized by containing a solution in which at least a stimuli-responsive polymer and a medium for supporting the stimuli-responsive polymer are dissolved , or a solution in which at least a stimuli-responsive polymer is dissolved in a liquid medium for supporting the stimuli-responsive polymer. This photosensitive composition for volume hologram production is also characterized in that the stimuli-responsive polymer has a solubility which decreases in response to at least one of a physical stimulus and a chemical stimulus which are produced by light irradiation.
