Abstract:
The present invention relates to a phytoestrogen composition for preventing or relieving climacteric or menopausal symptoms, wherein the phytoestrogen composition comprises at least one extract selected from the group consisting of lily, Cnidium monnieri (L.) Cusson, Polygala tenuifolia and mulberry root extracts as an active ingredient. The active ingredient of the present invention shows the activity of safe phytoestrogens through estrogen antagonistic and agonistic effects, thereby relieving or preventing various symptoms due to lack of estrogen during climacterium or menopause, and acts as an estrogen antagonist, thereby the problems of known hormone replacements seem not to occur. In addition, the active ingredient of the present invention hardly produces side effects in the human body since the active ingredient is a natural substance which has been used as medicine from the past to the present, thereby being capable of preparation as a pharmaceutical composition, a nutraceutical composition, or a food composition.
