Abstract:
A pickup device comprises: a string retention member 20 for retaining at least one string 60 stretched over an instrument body 50; a support member 10 for supporting the string retention member 20 while having a sensor attachment surface; and a piezoelectric sensor 40 secured to the sensor attachment surface of the support member 10. The piezoelectric sensor 40 extends along the sensor attachment surface of the support member 10. The sensor attachment surface of the support member 10 is parallel to a direction in which the string extends. The pickup device is capable of more precisely detecting the string vibrations generated when the string instrument is played.
