Abstract:
This piercing element 10 punching method comprises: preparing a plate material 20, a piercing element 10, a pre-punch 50, and a die 40; arranging the plate material 20 over a hole portion 41 of the die 40; arranging, in a position on the plate material 20 and corresponding to the hole portion 41, the piercing element 10 and the pre-punch 50 in order from top to bottom; pressing the piercing element 10 downward to thereby punch the plate material 20 using the pre-punch 50; causing a punched-out piece 21 to fall downward out of the hole portion 41; after the plate material 20 has been punched out, punching the piercing element 10 so as to be embedded in the plate material 20 while causing the plate material 20 to bite into a constricted portion 14; and causing the pre-punch to fall downward out of the hole portion 41.
