Abstract:
A piezoelectric actuator element for an ultrasonic motor comprises a laminated
piezoelectric element (14) produced by alternately laminating piezoelectric
layers (10) and electrode layers (12) formed to divide the piezoelectric layer
(10) substantially into two, and using primary longitudinal mode and secondary
bending mode. A piezoelectric inactive region (11) is formed in the central
portion of the laminated piezoelectric element (14) in the thickness direction
from the surface portion. In this piezoelectric actuator element, migration
resistance is enhanced while suppressing deterioration of displacement, occurrence
of short-circuit is prevented, heat generating positions are scattered during
AC polarization and reliability is enhanced. Furthermore, the quantity of
electrode is reduced and the cost can be reduced.
