Abstract:
This piezoelectric element driving circuit is provided with: a piezoelectric element that is driven at a prescribed frequency and that has a resonance frequency (2n+1) times higher than the prescribed frequency (n is a prescribed natural number); and a driving voltage generation unit that has a first output terminal connected to a first terminal of the piezoelectric element and a second output terminal connected to a second terminal of the piezoelectric element. When the piezoelectric element is driven, the waveform of the potential difference between the first output terminal and the second output terminal exhibits a step wave which shifts through an intermediate potential. The length of time when the potential difference exhibits the intermediate potential is around (t2-t1)/(2n+1) in a period from a time t1 when the potential difference falls to the intermediate potential to a time t2 when the potential difference subsequently falls to the intermediate potential.
