A crystal oscillator (1) comprising a piezoelectric oscillating element (10), a base member (30) to which the piezoelectric oscillating element (10) is mounted, and a lid member (40) of an electrically conductive material that forms an inner space, in which the piezoelectric oscillating element (10) is disposed, between the lid member (40) and the base member (30), wherein: an electrode for supplying electricity, to which the piezoelectric oscillating element (10) is connected, and an electrode for grounding, which is used for grounding, are provided to the base member (30); a conducting member (20) that electrically connects the electrode for grounding and the lid member (40) is provided; the lid member (40) has a ceiling wall part (41) and a side wall part (42) that extends from the outer edge of the ceiling wall part (41) toward the base member (30); and a sealing member (50) of an insulating material that covers at least a portion of the side wall part (42) of the lid member (40) and that covers an outer side surface of the conducting member (20) is provided.
